Up to Speed...

It has now been over 3 weeks since I arrived in Tanzania and with permits in hand, I am ready to begin my research project on human elephant conflict. I have really enjoyed my time thus far and am learning the ever-valuable skill of speaking Swahili... slowly, but surely. When I arrived, there was a student here who "trained" me on survival skills such as how to get toilet paper and food, what water to drink, what water not to drink, how to flush the toilet, where and how to do my research, and a crash course of Swahili. Tanzania is a wonderful place and I am already sad that all I have is 6 months remaining!
